This is an exciting time in the life of the College of Education at The University of Memphis. We are truly reinventing our work as we revisit our mission, identify the performances and outcomes we expect and must strive to attain, and improve our programs so that our students are better served than ever before.
Our reinvention formally began on May 10-11, 2005 as more than 200 faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community stakeholders used the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) process to identify and understand the College's strengths, potentials, opportunities, and hopes for the future. The result of this Futures Planning Summit is 16 aspiration statements, each representing actions and outcomes to which we are committed, and each supported by an Aspiration Team.
This website has been developed to document the progress of these teams and, therefore, the progress of the College of Education toward our collaboratively developed goals. Please visit often as one way to stay connected with the College's Futures Planning Process. For more direct involvement or more detailed information, I invite you to contact me or any of the Aspiration Team liaisons.
